Vo Thi Nhu Mai
Leaving behind
I have left, dear Hue, today
But my heart, it seems to stay
I would think, going away, that’s it
But Hue’s image in me is so richLeaving behind golden sunshine
From the beach before sunset
Leaving behind a kite on the sand
By the riverbank under a bamboo rowListen to the temple bell for me
Trembling waves from Perfume river
Forbidden city with moss covering
Linger to our soul, fog in the morning.
